What is my IP address?
Your public IP address is the unique identifier that your internet connection uses to communicate with the rest of the web. Every website you visit, every email you send and every app that talks to the internet sees this address. On this page we simply show it back to you — quickly, privately, and for free.
Instant
Your IP is rendered server-side on the first paint. No spinners, no external calls, no cold fetch.
Lightweight
Under 20 KB, zero external fonts, no third-party JavaScript beyond anonymous Google Analytics. Your IP is never stored on our side.
Keyboard-friendly
Press C to copy your IP, R to refresh. Works on tap, click, or keyboard — accessible by design.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 addresses (like 192.0.2.10) have been in use since the 1980s and are limited
in number. IPv6 addresses (like 2001:db8::1) were introduced because IPv4 ran out.
Most networks now support both, and you'll see whichever one your connection prefers for this site.
Is my IP address private or personal data?
Your public IP is sent with every request you make — every website already sees it automatically. In some jurisdictions it is still treated as personal data, which is why we don't log it or share it.
Does this site work with a VPN or proxy?
Yes. When you're on a VPN the IP shown here is the VPN's exit IP — the same address other services see for you. That's the whole point of a VPN: your real IP stays hidden.
Why does my IP look different in different places?
You might have one IPv4 and one IPv6 address at the same time, or your ISP might use CGNAT (carrier-grade NAT), which shares one public IP across many subscribers. Some tools report the first, some the second.
Do you log visits or IPs?
We do not log or store your IP address at the application level. Standard web server access logs are rotated and not mined. This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) for anonymous aggregate stats — GA does not persist your IP address, though it does set cookies on its own domain.
